ROCHESTER, NY – RIT women's soccer coach Liz Masterson is pleased to announce the 2017 season schedule. RIT will play eight home games, and play four teams who competed in the 2016 NCAA Division III Tournament in Farmingdale State College, Misericordia College, Nazareth College and William Smith College. The Tigers play nine Liberty League contests and eight non-conference games.

The Tigers open the 2017 season hosting the 18th Annual Rachel Miller Memorial Tournament on Sept. 1-2. RIT welcomes Allegheny College to Tiger Stadium on Sept. 1 and SUNY Oneonta the following day.

"Our schedule starts strong and remains that way right into conference play," said Masterson, who enters her eighth season at the university with a 66-43-18 record. "Our early season games should be great preparation for a rigorous Liberty League schedule. We are excited about the new format of the Liberty League schedule, as it is much more conducive to the health and well-being of our student athletes, not to mention more competitive matches."

RIT hits the road to play in the Misericordia Tournament on Sept. 9-10. Both opponents, Farmingdale State and Misericordia competed in the 2016 NCAA Tournament. After a road game at St. John Fisher on Sept. 14, the Tigers return home to face SUNY Fredonia on Sept. 16. On Oct. 20, RIT will make the quick trek to play Nazareth.

RIT plays nine of its 17 games against Liberty League opponents. The Tigers begin league play on Sept. 23, when they travel to Poughkeepsie to face Vassar College. RIT will host 10-time defending champion William Smith on Sept. 27, and close out the month with a game at Clarkson University on Sept. 30.

RIT plays four straight home games to open October. After hosting St. Lawrence University on Oct. 7, RIT will play a pair of games during Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend. The Tigers will host Rensselaer on Oct. 13, and Skidmore College on Oct. 14.

RIT hosts University of Rochester on Oct. 19 in its final non-conference game before closing out the regular season with three straight Liberty League road games at Bard College (Oct. 21), Ithaca College (Oct. 25) and Union College (Oct. 28).

With the addition of Ithaca as the 10th Liberty League team, the League Championship format has changed, with six teams qualifying for postseason play. The Liberty League quarterfinals will take place on Oct. 31, while the semifinals will be played on Nov. 4, with the title game taking place on Nov. 5. The Liberty League Champion earns the automatic berth into the 2017 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship.
