ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT men's tennis team (3-12, 2-5 Liberty League) downed Nazareth College (5-9) in its regular season finale at the RIT Tennis Courts on a balmy Thursday afternoon.
To start the match, the Tigers took two of the three doubles matches.
Chandler Daub (Kailua-Kona, HI/Kealakehe) and
Ben Lynaugh (Fairport, NY/Fairport) defeated Lamar Hurt and Den Freilicher, 8-1.
Ian Dansereau (Ludlow, MA/Ludlow) and
Roger Peckham (Westlake, OH/Lake Ridge Academy) also picked up points, defeating Nazareth's Jameson Keppler and Evan Vogue, 8-0.
Michael Peters (New Hope, PA/Holy Ghost Prep) and
Spencer Lowitt (Syosset, NY/Syosset) fell in the third doubles match, by a tight 8-5 score.
In the singles, RIT was strong with four of six victories. Daub, Lynaugh, Lowitt, and Peckham all won their contests, but Nazareth's Freilicher and Vogue also scored with wins against Matthews and Dansereau, respectively.
The Tigers finished their season with a 3-12 record. RIT will lose seniors Daub and Dansereau to graduation following this season.
