Men's tennis suffers tough loss against nationally-ranked foe Skidmore

PITTSFORD, NY – The RIT men's tennis team (2-11, 2-5 Liberty League) fell to No. 23 Skidmore College (9-5, 7-0 Liberty League), 9-0 at the Mendon Racquet Club on Saturday.
 
In doubles, the duo of Chandler Daub (Kailua-Kona, HI/Kealakehe) and Ben Lynaugh (Fairport, NY/Fairport) gave Skidmore's Kai Yuen Leung and John Wynne a battle before falling, 8-4.
 
At fifth singles, Spencer Lowitt (Syosset, NY/Syosset) took Niks Akesson to three sets. Lowitt won the opening set, 6-4, before Akesson rallied, winning set two, 7-5 and the third set, 10-7.
 
"We played really well against a very strong team," said RIT head coach Zach Remis.
 
RIT will honors seniors Ian Dansereau (Ludlow, MA/Ludlow) and Daub on Sunday, as RIT hosts Oneonta State College from the RIT Tennis Courts at 1 p.m.
