PITTSFORD, NY — The RIT men's tennis team (1-4, 1-2 Liberty League) was victorious 6-3 at home in Liberty League action against Union College (1-4, 1-2 LL) on Sunday at Mendon Racquet Club.
The Tigers started off strong, taking all three doubles matches.
Chandler Daub (Kailua-Kona, HI/Kealakehe) and
Ben Lynaugh (Fairport, NY/Fairport) beat David Bond and Del Shunk 8-2,
Jared Ingoglia (Essex Fells, NJ/West Essex Regional) and Patrick Matthews beat Ian Bank and Zach Kaplan 9-8, and the pairing of
Roger Peckham (Westlake, OH/Lake Ridge Academy) and Ian Danserau defeated Justin Gold and Max McGeown 8-5.
Each team won three of the singles matches, which clinched the victory for the Tigers.
Chandler Daub (Kailua-Kona, HI/Kealakehe),
Ben Lynaugh (Fairport, NY/Fairport), and
Spencer Lowitt (Syosset, NY/Syosset) all won in straight sets, while
Jared Ingoglia (Essex Fells, NJ/West Essex Regional), Patrick Matthews, and
Michael Peters (New Hope, PA/Holy Ghost Prep) each lost their singles matchup.
The Tigers are off until the end of the month, when the Tigers travel to take on Hamilton College in Clinton for non-league action on Sunday, March 26.
