Men's tennis loses Spring opener at University of Rochester

ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT men's tennis team (0-2) opened the 2017 Spring portion of its schedule by dropping a 9-0 decision to host University of Rochester (1-1) at the Goergen Athletic Center on Saturday.
 
RIT's third doubles team of Ian Dansereau (Ludlow, MA/Ludlow) and Patrick Mathews (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) battled hard before falling to Sahaj Somani and Tanmay Thakkar, 8-4.
 
In singles action, Ben Lynaugh (Fairport, NY/Fairport) just missed in his first set against Sam Leeman, falling 7-5 before Leeman put the third singles match away with a 6-2 win in the second set.

The Tigers are right back in action on Sunday with a road match at Elmira that gets underway at 1 p.m.
