Men's tennis drops contest to local rival Rochester

ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT men's tennis team (2-4) fell in nonconference action to local rival Rochester (5-7) by a score of 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon, at the Goergen Athletic Center.

The Yellow Jackets, ranked No. 20 in the region, swept all three doubles matches to begin the match. Chandler Daub (Kailua-Kona, HI/Kealakehe) and Ben Lynaugh (Fairport, NY/Fairport), the reigning Liberty League Men's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week, fell in a close match to Masaru Fujimaki and Aaron Mevorach, 8-6 in first doubles. Rochester later won the second and third doubles matches, by 8-1 and 8-4 scores respectively.

In singles play, Rochester swept all six matches in straight sets to preserve the shutout.

The Tigers will begin Liberty League play, taking on Rensselaer on Saturday at the Mendon Racquet and Pool Club at 4:30 p.m.
