SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – The RIT men's tennis team (5-9, 2-5 Liberty League) fell to No. 20 Skidmore (12-3, 7-0 Liberty League), 9-0 in the 2015-16 season finale on Saturday afternoon.
Skidmore swept through doubles play, giving up three points in the three matches. In first doubles,
Chandler Daub (Kailua-Kona, HI/Kealakehe) and
Ben Lynaugh (Fairport, NY/Fairport) fell to Kai Yuen Leung and Nick Tong, the second ranked doubles team in the Northeast region, 8-2. In singles play, after dropping the first set, Daub challenged third ranked Leung, but ultimately fell in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3.
Jared Ingoglia (Essex Fells, NJ/West Essex Regional) picked up three games, but dropped a straight set decision to Steven Koulouris, 6-0, 6-3.
Skidmore won all six singles matches in straight sets to complete the sweep.
The Tigers finish their season with a 5-9 record.
