                    Box Score CANTON, NY — The RIT (7-7-1, 3-4-0 Liberty League) women's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision at St. Lawrence (8-4-3, 3-3-1 Liberty League) on the Saints' senior day at Sandy MacAllaster Field on Saturday. The loss drops the Tigers into a tie for fifth in the Liberty League standings, while St. Lawrence vaults into fourth.
St. Lawrence's Hannah Meriam enjoyed a career-day, scoring three times and adding a pair of assists for an eight-point day. She has a hand on all five Saints goals.
 
The Tigers were out-shot 29-7 (20-5 on goal) in the contest. Junior goalkeeper 
Kelly Rogers (Ardmore, PA/Haverford) made a career-high 15 saves in the contest, while Jackie Sovie stopped all five shots sent her way for the Saints.
 
The first goal was scored in the 35th minute, as St. Lawrence's Hannah Merriam put a rebound past Rogers for a 1-0 Saints lead, on an assist from Katie Stames. St. Lawrence fired 16 shots (11 on target) in the first half, compared to four (two on goal) for RIT. Rogers made 10 saves in the opening half for the Tigers.
 
The Saints came right out of halftime and added to the lead, as Merriam added another goal 35 seconds in to make it 2-0. Stames had the assist again for St. Lawrence. Merriam then added a third goal in the 81st minute, assisted by Stames. St. Lawrence scored again in the 84th minute, off the foot of Julia Hill. Merriam added an assist on the goal. The Saints made it 5-0 late in the game, with a tally from Emily Wade, with an assist from Merriam, giving her eight points on the day.
 
"Today was a disappointing result," said RIT head coach 
Liz Masterson. "Give credit to St. Lawrence. They came to play and win, and got the job done. We will look to regroup and prepare for our next game."
 
The Tigers will be back in action at University of Rochester on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m.
