GENEVA, NY - The RIT men's tennis team (5-9, 1-5 Liberty League) went on the road and fell to Liberty League rival Hobart (10-5, 4-1 Liberty League) by a score of 8-1 at the Hobart/William Smith Tennis Center on Thursday afternoon.
Hobart opened the match by sweeping all three doubles matches. In singles action, freshman
Jared Ingoglia (Essex Fells, NJ/West Essex Regional), the reigning Liberty League and ECAC Upstate Rookie of the Week, secured RIT's lone point of the afternoon, winning an incredibly close match over Michael Field. Fields took the first set 7-5 before Ingoglia came roaring back to win the second set, 6-4, and third set tiebreaker, 11-9.
RIT wraps up the 2014-15 season on Sunday with a match against Vassar that begins at 10 a.m.
