ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT men's tennis team (3-5) put up a strong effort, but ultimately fell to Division II Robert Morris (7-4) by a score of 6-2 on "Tiger Den" day at the Gordon Field House Wednesday.
The second doubles team of
Ken Chou (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott ) and
Frank McGinn III (Wappingers Falls, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) rolled to an 8-3 win. The third doubles duo of
Amos Baptiste (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) and
Jason Alexander (Austin, TX/Bowie) put up a great fight before falling to Ema Rauchle and Rene Torti, 9-8.
Jared Ingoglia (Essex Fells, NJ/West Essex Regional) was RIT's lone singles winner, defeating Raucle in three sets. Rauchle won the first set, 6-1, before Ingoglia roared back to win the final two sets, 6-1 and 6-4. At sixth singles,
Jared Raphael (Batavia, NY/Batavia) played a strong match against Dustin Eshleman, winning the first set in a tie-breaker, 7-6. Eshleman won the next two sets, 6-2, and 10-4.
RIT is back in action on Tuesday, April 1 against Hamilton College at 4 p.m.
