Click for resultsROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's swimming and diving team was defeated by LeMoyne College in a nailbiter, 151-149 on Saturday afternoon at Judson Pool. The loss broke a four-meet winning streak.
Steven Paine (York, PA/Dallastown Area) and
Derek Brown (Canisteo, NY/Canisteo-Greenwood) each won two individual events for the Tigers.
The Tigers placed second and third in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of
Derek Rothrock (Ashburn, VA/Briar Woods), Matt Butler, Tom Regan and
Derek Brown (Canisteo, NY/Canisteo-Greenwood) were second in a time of 1:39.34.
John O'Gorman (Yarmouth, ME/Yarmouth),
Alex Madar (Suffern, NY/Suffern),
Daniel Yuen-Schat (Honolulu, HI/Kaiser) and
Tomer Artzi (Framingham, MA/Framingham) placed third in a time of 1:43.58.
Paine won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:49.27. He went on to win the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:00.48. Brown won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.10, and won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 48.52. Rothrock won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 55.67.
The team of Tomer,
Austin Hayes (Aurora, OH/Aurora), O'Gorman and Brown won the 400-yard freestyle realy, coming home in a time of 3:18.54.
RIT returns to action on Dec. 4-5 when the Tigers comepete at the 2015 Liberty League Championships hosted by Rensselaer and Union College.
