Box Score SCHENECTADY, NY – The No. 23 RIT (12-2-2, 6-0-1 Liberty League) women's soccer team went on the road Saturday and beat Union College (7-5-3, 3-4-0 Liberty League) 3-2. Freshman Danielle Losquadro (Merrick, NY/Sanford H. Calhoun) tallied the game winner in the 80th minute to give the Tigers the win. The win clinched at least the No. 2 seed and a home game for RIT in the Liberty League Semifinal.

"I am really pleased with how our team responded to adversity today," said RIT head coach Liz Masterson. "We knew Union would give us all they had, and that we needed to be sharp the full 90 minutes."

Shots were 17-10 in favor of the Tigers, who took five corner kicks to four for the Dutchwomen. Kelly Rogers (Ardmore, PA/Haverford) got the start in net for RIT, picking up the win, making two saves. Erica Mateo got the loss for Union, making three saves.

RIT took a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute on a goal from Caitlyn Daly (Glendora, CA/St. Lucy's Priory). She scored off a free kick from just outside the Union penalty area. It was her first goal of the season.
Union tied the score at 1-1 on Julia Kipps goal in the 52nd minute. Jessica Farland sent in a corner kick that Kipp headed in just below the crossbar.

The Tigers took the lead back on a goal from Monique Polanco (Merrick, NY/John F. Kennedy) in the 68th minute. Maxine Culhane (Scotia, NY/Scotia-Glenville) started the play with her service into the Union box. Ornellas tipped the ball to Polanco who scored inside the left post.

Christine Hill tied the score at 2-2 on her goalfive minutes later. The Dutchwomen sent in a corner kick that Hill headed inside the near post, tying the score at 2-2.

Losquadro gave the Tigers a 3-2 lead on her first collegiate goal in the 80th minute off an assist from Elizabeth May (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland). With the ball loose inside the Union penalty box, Losquadro tapped home the loose ball giving the Tigers the lead back.

RIT wraps up the regular season next Saturday, Oct. 31 when the Tigers host No. 6 William Smith College at 1 p.m. on the grass at Tiger Stadium. The Tigers will honor the Class of 2016, as they will make their final regular season appearance at Tiger Stadium. A win would give RIT the Liberty League regular season championship.
