Men's tennis rolls to shutout win over Nazareth

ROCHESTER, NY -
The RIT men's tennis team concluded the regular season with a convincing 9-0 win over visiting Nazareth College from the Gordon Field House on Wednesday afternoon. RIT improves to 3-10 on the season, while Nazareth falls to 4-11.

Amos Baptiste (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood), Ben Lynaugh (Fairport, NY/Fairport), and Frank McGinn III (Wappingers Falls, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) were dual winners on the afternoon for RIT. Baptiste earned a hard-fought 6-4, 3-6, 10-4 win over Erik Manske of Nazareth at first singles, and partnered with Ben Lynaugh (Fairport, NY/Fairport) to defeat Manske and Christian Bryant, 8-3 at first doubles. Lynaugh took down Nick Lord at thid singles, 6-1, 6-2. McGinn III defeated Bryant at fifth singles, 6-3, 6-3, and teamed with Ken Chou (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott ) to defeat Brian Rosiek and Matt Jennings at third doubles, 8-2.

At second doubles, the duo of Sebastian Vera Antelo (Santa Cruz, Bolivia/Mayor San Loranzo) and Jason Alexander (Austin, TX/Bowie) rolled to an 8-1 win over Lord and Scott Trobert.

Returning from injury, Jake Stocker (Cassville, NY/Sauquoit Valley) defeated Trobert in straight sets at second singles, 7-5, 6-2, Andrew Reiley (Manorville, NY/Eastport South Manor) garnered a 6-1, 6-1 win over Rosiek at fourth singles, while Jared Raphael (Batavia, NY/Batavia) defeated Jennings at sixth singles, 6-2, 5-7, 10-3.

The Tigers will host the Liberty League Championship from May 2-4. Seedings and matchups will be determined next week.
