ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT men's tennis team (2-6, 0-1 Liberty League) fell to Liberty League foe Vassar College (8-7, 3-1 Liberty League) indoors by a score of 9-0 at the Gordon Field House on Sunday afternoon. The two teams were able to play the match indoors despite a snow storm that hit Western New York on Saturday night.
Vassar was in control of the match from start to finish, winning all three doubles matches by scores of 8-4, 8-1, and 8-4, while all six of the singles matches were straight set victories for the Brewers. At first singles, Vassar's Daniel Cooper defeated
Chandler Daub (Kailua-Kona, HI/Kealakehe) in the first set 6-0, before Daub came roaring back to just miss in the second set, as Cooper won 7-6. Nick Litsky, Christian Phelps, Evan Urdine, Alexander Luckmann, and James Lee also won singles matches in straight sets for Vassar.
RIT is back in action on Sunday, April 6 with a road contest aat St. Lawrence University that gets underway at 1 p.m.
