Men's tennis falls in home match to Roberts Wesleyan

ROCHESTER, NY -
The RIT men's tennis team (1-5) dropped its third match of the Spring season, falling to Roberts Wesleyan College (8-4) by a score of 8-1 in non-league action from the Gordon Field House on Wednesday afternoon.

Roberts Wesleyan opened the contest by taking all three doubles matches. At third doubles, Frank McGinn III (Wappingers Falls, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) and Andrew Reiley (Manorville, NY/Eastport South Manor) enjoyed a strong match before falling to Robert Beer and Emanuel Rauchle, 8-5.

Chandler Daub (Kailua-Kona, HI/Kealakehe) picked up RIT's lone win at first singles, rolling to a 6-4, 6-2 win over Beka Buchukuri. At second singles, Amos Baptiste (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) gave Charles Farres all he could handle. Farres won the first set, 6-4, before Baptiste took the second set, 6-1. Farres won the third set, 6-2 to take the match,

The Tigers are back in action on Friday, March 28 at Nazareth. The match gets underway at 4 p.m.
