ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (2-3) men's tennis team began the 2012 portion of their schedule in fine fashion defeating St. John Fisher College 8-1 on Sunday afternoon.

The Tigers began the match with three straight wins in doubles action. Clayton Tontarski (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) and Max Bogue (Colchester, VT/Colchester) beat John Whelehan and Greg Duffy, 8-2 in first doubles. Neville Bilimoria (Mumbai/Schiller International) and Marc Lachance (Fairport, NY/Fairport) were victorious in second doubles beating the team on Mitchell and Parshall 8-2. Jake Stocker (Cassville, NY/Sauquoit Valley) and Alex Russin (Rochester, NY/Brighton) were winner in third doubles defeating the team of Quinzi and Maley 8-4.

RIT kept the momentum in singles action, winning five out of six matches, all in straight sets. 

The Tigers return to action on Monday, March 19 when they face Nazareth College at 4 pm in Pittsford, New York.
