BROCKPORT, NY -- The RIT (12-10) softball team dropped a pair of games at the College at Brockport on Tuesday afternoon. In game one RIT was defeated 5-0, and lost game two 9-0. The losses drop the Tigers to 12-10 on the season.
In game one, RIT managed just one hit. That came off the bat of
Tori Nadow (Charlton, MA/Shepherd Hill) in the seventh inning.
Brittany Kemp (Dansville, NY/Wayland-Cohocton) took the loss for RIT, going six innings allowing five runs, three of which were earned. She struck out eight and did not walk a batter. The Tigers committed two errors that led to a pair of Golden Eagles runs.
Brockport scored two runs in the fourth, and three in the sixth to break the game open.
In game two, RIT mustered four hits but failed to score losing 9-0.
Tiffany Gundler (North Adams, MA/Drury ) got the start for RIT allowing nine runs on 10 hits in 3 2/3 innings of work. She struck out none and walked three.
Emily Courtney (Berlin, CT/Kingswood-Oxford), Kelsy McManus, Gundler and
Brittney Lavoie (Plattsburgh, NY/Ticonderoga) each had hits for the Tigers in game two.
RIT hits the road for a pair of Empire 8 conference games on Saturday, April 16 at Elmira College. First pitch of the doubleheader is at 1 pm.
