ALFRED, NY — The RIT women's soccer team (6-1-2, 1-0-1 Empire 8) remained unbeaten in Empire 8 play, earning a scoreless draw at Alfred University (2-3-3, 0-1-2 Empire 8) on a cool, Wednesday evening at Merrill Field.

RIT outshot Alfred 21-10 and held a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal.  RIT had seven corner kicks to Alfred's three.  The Tigers had a fair amount of quality scoring chances, with seven players firing at least two shots, but Alfred goalkeeper Shanna Ewoldt made seven saves to earn her fourth shutout of the season.

Tiger goalkeeper Ashley Valenti (Honeoye Falls, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) made three saves in goal to earn her fourth shutout of the 2010 season.  She now has a miniscule 0.53 goals against average and .894 save percentage.

RIT has allowed just five goals in nine games this season.

RIT returns to action on Saturday with a road contest at Empire 8 foe Stevens.  That contest gets underway at 12 p.m.
