BUFFALO, NY - The RIT softball team (13-9) cruised to a pair of five-inning wins against D'Youville (3-19) on Wednesday afternoon. RIT won game one, 10-1, and game two, 11-2.
In game one,
Carlissa Cole (Alden, NY/Alden) was 2-for-2 with a pair of runs scored and two RBI. She also earned the win on the mound, allowing five hits and one run over five innings. The win was Cole's seventh of the season.
Tori Nadow (Charlton, MA/Shepherd Hill) was 2-for-3 with a double, triple, three runs scored and an RBI.
Katie Fitzpatrick (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown West) was 3-for-3 with a run scored and run batted in. The three hits are a career-high for Fitzpatrick.
In game two, Nadow drove in four runs. She now has 20 RBI over her last 12 games. McPherson was a home run short of the cycle, finishing 3-for-4 with a single, double, triple, and three runs scored.
Emily Courtney (Berlin, CT/Kingswood-Oxford) was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and a run batted in.
Brittany Kemp (Dansville, NY/Wayland-Cohocton) picked up her sixth win of the season, tying her career-high with 11 strikeouts over five innings. She allowed six hits and zero earned runs. Kemp was also 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, two runs scored and two RBI.
RIT is right back in action on Thursday, as they travel to Medaille College for a pair of games against the Mavericks that gets underway at 3 p.m.
