ROCHESTER, NY - Head Coach Krystina Bachner won her first match at the helm of the RIT men's tennis team, as the Tigers came from behind to earn a 5-4 win over Roberts Wesleyan in the spring season opener.

RIT was down 2-1 going into the singles matches.  With the match tied at 4-4, RIT freshman Will Abisalih (Merrimac, MA/Phillips Exeter Academy) took control.  He was the last one playing, with everyone watching, and he handled the pressure very well and took the third set with command. "Abisalih was playing without lights, it was very intense,!" commented RIT Head Coach Krystina Bachner.

RIT is right back in action on Sunday, as they travel to play St. Lawrence.  That match begins at 10 a.m.

1st Doubles: N. Bilimoria & W. Abisalih (RIT) vs A. Karapetyan & M. Maksmiuk lost 7-9.
2nd doubles: J. Albers & C. Tontarski (RIT) vs E. Flores & G. Michaylyszyn lost 6-8.
3rd doubles: L. Hall & A. Edborg (RIT) vs B. Stoker & S. Roll Won 8-2.

1st singles John Traver (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa)(RIT) defeated Aram Karapetyan (RW) and won 0-6, 6-4, 6-3.
2nd singles: Neville Bilimoria (Mumbai/Schiller International) (RIT) lost to German Michaylzszyn (RW) 3-6, 2-6.
3rd singles: Clayton Tontarski (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) (RIT) lost to Maciej Maksmiuk (RW) in 3 sets 2-6, 6-4, 1-6.
4th singles: Will Abisalih (Merrimac, MA/Phillips Exeter Academy) (RIT) defeated Enrique Flores (RW) 7-6 (8-6), 5-7, 7-6 (7-1).
5th singles: Adam Wolf (South Euclid, Ohio/Brush) (RIT) defeated Brett Stoker (RW) 6-0, 6-1.
6th singles: Andrew Edbog (RIT) defeated Nick Hunter (RW)  6-0, 6-1.
