HOBOKEN, NJ – The RIT (6-2-2, 1-1-1 E8) women's soccer team allowed four second-half goals en route to a 4-0 loss at Stevens in Empire 8 action Saturday afternoon. The four goals allowed by the Tigers is the most allowed so far this season.
The Ducks' held a 7-1 edge in shots in the first half generating the only scoring chances for either team.
RIT pushed the action into the Stevens zone in the first several minutes of the second half but the Ducks quickly grasped hold of the contest with three goals over a span of just 5:49.
Schuckers gave the Ducks a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute with her fifth goal of the season. The Ducks took a 2-0 lead 4:11 later when Chew netted her second tally of the season. Just 2:38 later, the Ducks capitalized on the game's first corner. Schuckers lofted a nice ball into the box and sophomore Paige Allen deflected it to Lehman in front for the easy tally. The Ducks added to their lead in the 67th minute when Misilo and Lehman connected on a 2-on-1 breakaway. Lehman led Misilo perfectly into the left side of the box and the Duck senior beat the RIT keeper for her fifth of the season. Lehman was credited with her third assist and fifth point of the game on the play.
Stevens outshot RIT 14-5. Four of RIT's five shots were on net.
Ashley Valenti (Honeoye Falls, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) picked up the loss allowing three goals in a little over 65 minutes of action.
Alyssa Henkel (Newark, NY/Newark) played the final 24 minutes allowing one goal.
RIT is off until Saturday, Septemebr 9 when they face Utica College at 1 pm in Utica, New York.
