GRAND ISLAND, NY -- The RIT men's cross country team finished sixth out of 10 teams at the 2009 University of Buffalo Stampede Invitational at Beaver Island Park on an exceptional Saturday afternoon. RIT finished with a team score of 183 points, The University of Akron, a Division I program, won the team title with 58 points.
NIck Lowe (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) was RIT's top finisher, placing 30th overall with a time of 26:59.
William Craig (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) was RIT's next best finisher, placing 37th in 27:29.
Cameron Gallivan (Buffalo, NY/Canisius) placed 46th overall in a time of 27:45.
Adam Irr (Newfane, NY/Newfane) was four seconds back of Gallivan in 48th place, while
Jeremy Cook (Rochester, NY/Aquinas Institute) rounded out RIT's top five, placing 50th overall in 27:57.
RIT returns to action on Saturday, September 26 when they compete at the Highlander Invitational, hosted by Houghton College. The men's race gets underway at 11:15 a.m.
