ROCHESTER, NY -- Judson Pool was the site for today's Empire 8 dual meet between RIT and Nazareth. The men won 176-83 while the women were defeated by the Golden Flyers 183-117.

The women began the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Rachel Lorenz (Norwich, NY/Norwich), Emily Rapchick-Weidman (Dansville, NY/Dansville) (Dansville, NY), Caitlyn Burr (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy) and Sara Kucsan (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan ) (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) won the race in a time of 1:55.27.

Caitlyn Burr (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy) (Dalhi, NY/Delaware Academy) won the 200-yard butterfly in a pool and school record time of 2:09.77 and the 100-yard butterfly in a pool record time of 58.78. She also won the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:09.67.

Rachel Lorenz (Norwich, NY/Norwich) (Oneonta, NY/Norwich) won the 100-yard backstroke (1:02.53) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:17.52), while Courtney Schwarting (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Lake ) (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Spa) won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:33.84.

On the men's side, the team of #Brian Duffy (Clarence, NY/Clarence)# (Clarence, NY), Bryan Minicucci (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield), Dan Klaus (Frankford, NJ/High Point) (Frankford, NJ/High Point) and Casey Schneider (Grandville, MI/Grandville) opened the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:41.91.

Adam Giblin (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) won the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 10:54.47 and Phil Baudoin (Blacksburg, VA/Blacksburg) (Blacksburg, VA) won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:48.07. Baudoin also won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:08.06 and the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:09.64

Steve Rois (Amherst, NY/Amherst) (Amherst, NY), #Eric Madar (Suffern, NY/Suffern)# (Suffern, NY) and Brian Duffy (Clarence, NY/Clarence) went one, two, three in the 100-yard backstroke. Rois won the event in a time of 58.45.

Steve Berus (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville North) and #A.J. Broderick# (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) went one, two in the 100-yard breaststroke. Berus won the race in a time of 1:02.17. Frank Zelinger (Schwenksville, PA/The Hill School) won the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:05.18. He also won the 200-yard breastroke in a time of 2:14.75.

Casey Schneider (Grandville, MI/Grandville) (Grandville, MI) won the 50-yard freestyle (21.89) and the 100-yard freestyle (48.86) and Frank Zelinger (Schwenksville, PA/The Hill School) (Schwenskville, PA/The Hill School) won the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:10.66.

The women are off until Thursday, February 19 when they begin competition in the New York State Championships.

The men are off until Thursday, February 26 when they begin competition in the New York State Championships.
