Men's Cross Country Places Sixth out of 10 Teams at NYSCTC Championship

CLINTON, NY -
The RIT men's cross country team placed sixth of out 10 teams in muddy conditions at the NYSCTC Championship at the Hamilton College Golf Course on Satutrday afternoon.  The Tigers finished with a team score of 151 points.

University of Rochester won the team title with 53 points.  Peter Kosgei of Hamilton was the top individual runner, defeating the rest of the field by over a minute, completing the course in 26:08.5.

Senior Mike Brindak (Syracuse, NY/Solvay) (Syracuse, NY/Solvay) ran a tremendous race, placing fifth overall out of 89 runners,  completing the 8,000-meter course in a time of 27:30.7.

Junior Nick Meeker (Hamburg, NJ/Wallkill Valley) (Hamburg, NJ/Wallkill Valley) was RIT's next best finisher, placing 27th overall in 28:12.1.  Zach Miller (Ironville, PA/Hempfield) (Ironville, PA/Hempfield) was 36th in a time of 28:40.

Freshman Mike Kurvach (Victor, NY/Victor) (Victor, NY/Victor) placed 39th overall in 28:57.4, while William Craig (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) rounded out RIT's top-five, finishing 44th in 29:32.6.

The Tigers are back in action on Saturday, November 15, as they compete at the NCAA Atlantic Region Qualifier in Canton, N.Y. at 12 p.m.
