As a senior co-captain of the cross country squad, Jeff Abbott (Atlanta, GA/Lassiter) capped off an impressive weekend for the Tigers with an eighth place finish at the Geneseo Invitational, which led the team. Abbott also posted a career-best finishing time of 26:39 on the eight kilometer course. Adding to the great personal victory for the runner was the windy, wet and muddy conditions Abbott faced to get that course time. The Tigers faced strong competition and posted one of their best finishes of the season. Cross country has had a solid season sofar, most notably coming in fourth at the Daniel Walker Invitational and fifth at the Williams College Purple Valley Classic before finishing second out of 18 teams at Geneseo. They will travel next to the St. Lawrence Invitational this Saturday at Noon.
