ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's cross country team opens the 2026 season at Brockport's Tom Balon Alumni Classic this Saturday (Sep. 5). Here are six things you need to know about the squad.
LOOKING BACK
Last season, RIT placed sixth out of 23 teams at the NCAA Division III Niagara Regional Championships, following a fifth-place finish at the Liberty League Championships.
The Tigers top team results were a pair of second place finishes at the Tom Balon Alumni Classic and the Highlander Invitational as well as a third-place finish at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational.
ACADEMIC SUCCESS
The Tigers led all RIT athletic teams in the classroom last year, posting a combined 3.859 cumulative grade point average for the 2025-26 academic year.
DUAL THREAT
Seniors
Kathryn Arbegast and
Therese Georgia return after making their first appearances at the NCAA Division III National Championships last fall. The duo qualified for the national race after placing third and 14th, respectively, at the Niagara Regional Championships.
ROOKIE RUNNER
The Tigers boast one newcomer this season. A native of Nine Mile Falls, Wash., first-year
Olivia Divine will look to make an immediate impact for RIT.

2026 SCHEDULE
The Tigers open the season on Saturday (Sep. 5) at Brockport's Tom Balon Alumni Classic. RIT competes in Rochester's Yellowjacket Invitational on Sep. 19 followed by Roberts Wesleyan's Harry F. Anderson Invitational on Sep. 26. October kicks off with the team travelling to Fredonia to race in the Kara Hall Memorial Invitational on Oct. 2, before taking part in Houghton's Highlander Invitational on Oct. 10.
The regular season concludes with the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble on October 17 in Ohio. Championship season begins on Oct. 31 with the Liberty League Championships in Annondale-on-Hudson, N.Y. Two weeks later, the NCAA Division III Niagara Region Championships will be held at Fredonia on Nov. 14. The Division III National Championship will be held at Carleton's Bill Huyck Championship Course in Northfield, Minn. on Saturday, Nov. 21.
