ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The RIT men's track & field team recorded numerous top finishes and several AARTFC‑qualifying marks at the Nazareth D3 Elite Invitational, held Friday and Saturday at the Golisano Training Center.
Sophomore
John Elliot headlined the weekend with a victory in the 800 meters, running 1:53.64, an AARTFC‑qualifying mark that also set a program record. Senior
Ryan Senf finished second in the 400m Invite in 49.64, while junior Jack Defeo captured the 400m Invite title in 49.05.
First-year
Cameron Krein and senior
Jonathan Jacobs led RIT in the short sprints, placing second and third, respectively in the 200m, with Krein also adding a seventh‑place finish in the 60m finals. Sophomore
Naashon Calliens finished second in the 60m hurdles, while first‑year
Dominic Davis added a fourth‑place finish in the same event.
The Tigers also won the 4x400 relay in 3:18.97 and captured the Distance Medley Relay title in 10:32.61, both AARTFC‑qualifying efforts.
In the field events, junior
Ryan Swenson won the pole vault with a clearance of 4.60m, another AARTFC mark. First‑year
Cooper Bradley tied for second in the high jump at 1.98m, also an AARTFC qualifier. First‑year
Aden Memoli and sophomore
Cole Henderson placed fifth and sixth in the long jump to round out RIT's top field-event performances.
