ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT men's track & field team turned in a strong performance at the Nazareth Conference Challenge on Saturday, finishing second overall with 101 points at the Golisano Training Center.
Junior
Jack DeFeo led the Tigers on the track with runner‑up finishes in the 200 meters (22.68) and 400 meters (48.83). Senior
Jonathan Jacobs placed fourth in the 60‑meter dash (7.12), while senior
Ryan Senf finished eighth in the 400 meters.
RIT collected key points in the distance events, highlighted by sophomore
John Elliot, who finished second in the 800 meters (1:55.54), and sophomore
Brandon Blandino, who earned runner‑up honors in the 3000 meters (8:48.91). In the 5000 meters, junior
Sebastian Montalvo placed fourth (15:25.51), followed by sophomore
Spencer Buff in sixth.
In the field events, junior
Ryan Swenson won the pole vault (4.45m), leading a group of five Tigers who placed in the top nine. Sophomore
Trevor Krukin finished third in the high jump (1.88m), while senior Dean Bartles added points in both the shot put and weight throw.
