ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Five RIT student-athletes were honored by the Liberty League with weekly honors announced by the league, Monday.
Junior
Madisen Pavoris was named the Women's Swimmer of the Week and first year
Taryn Hickey was the Rookie of the Week.
On the men's side, first year
Griffin Tomsheck was named the Men's Swimmer of the Week. Junior
Luke Albanese was named the Men's Diver of the Week and first year
Griffin Messenlehner was named the Rookie of the Week.
Pavoris posted the fastest times in the Liberty League of the season in the 200 Back (2:08.08) and the 100 Back (59.32) at the D3 Shootout in Chicago over the weekend.
Hickey swam the fastest times in the Liberty League so far this season at the D3 Shootout in Chicago over the weekend. She posted times of 24.15 in the 50 Free and 53.14 in the 100 Free.
Tomsheck posted the fastest Liberty League times of the season in four events at the D3 Shootout in Chicago over the weekend. Tomsheck posted top times in the 100 Breast (57.34), 200 Breast (2:05.23), 200 IM (1:57.39), and the 400 IM (4:14.94). The results in the 200 Breast, 200 IM, and 400 IM are all personal bests.
Messenlehner posted the fastest times in the Liberty League this season at the D3 Shootout over the weekend. The first year recorded a time of 46.51 in the 100 Free and 51.09 in the 100 Back. Both times are season bests for the newcomer.
Albanese earned second place in the 1M and 3M heights at the D3 Shootout in Chicago over the weekend. Albanese scored 313.20 in the 1M dive and 337.25 in the 3M dive.
