ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The RIT women's rowing team competed at the Head of the Genesee Regatta, Saturday.
The Women's 1v 8+ took third place behind William Smith College (1st) and the University of Rochester (2nd) with a time of 19:20.334, defeating St. Lawrence University, St. John Fisher College, and Binghamton University. The boat was coxed by Claire Schwenke with Jessica Hall, Evelyn Andersen, Natalie Siwek, Maggie Carey, Veronica Washco, Olivia Henry, Michelle Carney, and Ellen Shepard.
The Women's 2v 8+ placed second to William Smith College, with a time of 20:32.462, in a boat coxed by Julia Gill, with Zoe Zeller, Lydia Blatnik, Nikole Russek, Erin Getty, Emily DeVries, Lexi Borzelleri, Hannah Boettcher, and Sarah Polek.
The Women's Four took third place behind William Smith College (1st) and the University of Rochester (2nd) with a time of 21:11.089, defeating seven other boats in the Women's 4+ event. The boat was coxed by Claire Schwenke, with Jessica Hall, Evelyn Anderson, Nikole Russek, and Ellen Shepard.
The RIT Women's Quad came in fourth place to two Ithaca College boats and D'Youville University with a time of 22:34.834, defeating two University of Rochester boats as well as Clarkson University.
In the Women's Doubles event, the RIT2x with Veronica Washco and Michelle Carney came in second to Ithaca College with a time of 20:14.185. The RIT2x boats with Maggie Carey and Natalie Siwek placed fifth (22:51.158), and Mia Leone and Arden Conybear followed in sixth place (23:27.738) out of nine total boats.

RIT will compete against Hobart & William Smith on Saturday (Oct. 28) in Geneva.
