There will be two sessions each day with morning preliminaries at 10am and evening final sessions at 6pm. Diving trials are at 1pm each day with the final 3-meter dives taking place at Wednesday's (men) and Saturday's (women's) evening sessions. Final 1-meter diving occur during Thursday's (women's) and Friday's (men's) evening sessions.

The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men are seeking their sixth straight Liberty League Championship title and seventh since 2013-14. The Engineers won the 2020 championship with 1,616 points, defeating second-place Ithaca by 94 points as the Bombers tallied 1,522 points through the four-day championship. Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) was third with 1,448 points.

RPI had a strong 2021-22 campaign with a 6-2 dual meet mark, including 3-2 against Liberty League opponents. The Engineers are led by Matthew Youngbar, Lorenzo Gurri and Tony Min. Youngbar competes in the distance freestyle events and his season-best time in the 1,650-yard freestyle (10:44.99 seed time) is ranked second when compared to league opponents. He is also seeded seventh in the 500-yard freestyle at 4:50.10. Gurri paces the league in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 50.5 seconds and is second in the 200-yard butterfly (1:52.82) to teammate Min (1:51.23) by a little over one second. In the 100 butterfly, Min is seeded second with a time of 50.71.

The Bombers went 8-1 and finished second at their own invitational. Against conference foes, Ithaca was 2-1, only dropping a close contest to RIT in November. Stanley Zaneski highlights the team competitors. He was named the Swimmer of the Year at the 2020 Liberty League Championship after he won the 50-yard, 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle events, while setting a meet record in the 50 (20.48). He also anchored the 200-yard and 400-yard medley relay teams to first-place finishes, both of which set conference championship and association records. This season, he is second in the league in the 50 freestyle (20.93), third in the 100 freestyle (46.38) and fifth in the 200 freestyle (1:44.56). Teammate James Collishaw holds the top times in two of the freestyle events (50 freestyle; 20.92 & 100 freestyle; 45.59) and is second in the 200 freestyle (1:42.61).

RIT was 6-1 this year with three of those six victories against Liberty League opponents. The Tigers also won their own Don Richards Invitational against four Liberty League teams. Brendan Kapp, who recorded three runner-up finishes and was a part of three relay teams at the 2020 championship, highlights the squad. Kapp currently holds the league's best time in the 100-yard breaststroke at 56.98 and 200-yard breaststroke at 2:02.03. He is also ranked second in the 200-yard individual medley (1:53.57). Drew Scheib will be another key swimmer for RIT at his first conference championship. He boasts a league-best time of 1:42.04 in the 200-yard freestyle and is second in the 100-yard freestyle (46.35). Schieb is also seeded third in the 50-yard freestyle (21.32) and 100-yard butterfly (50.93).

Vassar's Robbie Perot and Max White will look to make some noise of their own. Perot competing in six events in the 2020 meet, placing among the top-10 in five and White was among the top-six in all seven events in which he participated. Perot tops the league in the 500-yard freestyle (4:41.59) and 1,650-yard freestyle (9:59.39) and is fourth in the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.28).
