Women’s Hockey hosts St. Lawrence Tuesday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The RIT women's hockey team hosts St. Lawrence, Tuesday, Nov. 23 at 6 p.m. at the Gene Polisseni Center. The contest is rescheduled from Oct. 21.

LAST TIME OUT
RIT enters Tuesday's contest after a pair of weekend defeats to CHA opponent Mercyhurst. The Tigers opened the weekend series with a 3-1 loss (Nov. 19) after entering the third period tied. RIT wrapped up the series with a 6-1 loss (Nov. 20).

TOPS IN THE NATION
RIT remains No. 1 in NCAA team saves with 641. Freshman goaltender Sarah Coe's 493 saves are the most in the country, while senior defender Taylor Sims' 48 blocks are also No. 1 in that category. Junior goaltender Taylor Liotta's 65 saves at Minnesota (Nov. 13) ranks No. 1 as the most in any game this season.

BRICK CITY BLOCKING WALL
The Tigers surpassed 300 team blocks last weekend after recording 53 in its weekend series against Mercyhurst. In the Nov. 20 game against the Lakers, RIT registered 30 blocks, the most in any Tigers game this season. RIT has two of the top-five national shot blockers in Sims and sophomore defender Mia Tsilemos, who has 37. Freshmen defenders Kyla Bear (29) and Bailey Kehl (27) are also in the nation's top-20.

FACEOFF WINS
Sophomore forward Lindsay Maloney is tied for 17th nationally in faceoff wins with 151, while senior forward Abby Davies is No. 22 with 141 faceoff wins. Maloney took 12 of 14 faceoffs in the Nov. 19 game last weekend against Mercyhurst with an 85.7 winning percentage – the highest RIT winning percentage this season for double-digit attempts.

TIGER SCORING LEADERS
Maloney (3g, 3a) and sophomore forward Emma Roland (5g, 1a) lead the team with six points, Roland's five tallies lead the Tigers in goals, while Kehl's four assists leads the team in helpers.

ABOUT THE SAINTS
The Saints enter Tuesday's matchup after a pair of ECAC games last weekend, finishing with a 1-0-1 record after skating to a 4-4 tie with ninth-ranked Yale on Friday (Nov. 19) and posting a 2-1 win over Brown on Saturday (Nov. 20). First-year Abby Hustler currently leads the Saints in points with three goals and seven assists for 10 points, while Aly McLeod leads St. Lawrence in goals with six on the season. Both McLeod (6g, 3a) and Rachel Teslak (3g, 6a) have nine points on the season. Saints' goaltender Lucy Morgan enters Tuesday's game with a 1.55 goals against average and a .941 save percentage. Morgan's goals against average ranks 11th nationally, while her save percentage ranks ninth.

RIT VS. ST. LAWRENCE – HISTORY
Earlier this season, the Saints posted a 3-0 win over RIT at Appleton Arena on Oct. 22 with all three St. Lawrence goals scored on the power play. It was the first meeting between the two teams.
