Game Recap: Women's Hockey |

Women's Hockey falls 4-2 at No. 14/15 Colgate

HAMILTON, N.Y. – RIT junior forwards Kailey Favro and Zoe Ziotas each scored in the Tigers 4-1 loss at No. 14/15 Colgate, Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Addison Tremel scored at 5:26 of the first period to give Colgate a 1-0 lead.
  • Favro tied the game 1-1 on her power play goal at 17:43 of the opening frame. Senior forward Linda Rulle gathered the puck behind the Raiders net and fed Favro with a pass out front who buried the one-timer for her first goal of the season.
  • Alexia Aubin gave Colgate a 2-1 lead on her goal at 5:47 of the second period.
  • Junior forward Ireland Stein had a pair of shots on goal midway through the period turned aside by Colgate goalie, Farah Walker.
  • Aubrey Morrison scored with one minute remaining in the second to give the Raiders a 3-1 lead.
  • Colgate appeared score early in the third period but the goal was waived off after replay.
  • Ziotas cut Colgate's lead to 3-2 when she intercepted the puck at Colgate's blueline and broke in, scoring with a shot through Walker's legs at 13:19 of the third period.
  • Aubin tallied an empty-net goal at 18:47 to make it a 4-2 final.
 
 
GAME NOTES:
  • Colgate outshot RIT, 31-29
  • The Tigers went 1-for-3 on the power play while the Raiders went 0-for-3
  • First year goaltender Oceanne Thiffault made 26 saves including 12 in the third period.
