ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's hockey team plays No. 15/15 Colgate in a home-and-home series this weekend. The Tigers host the Raiders on Friday (Oct. 2) at 6:00 p.m. and play at the Class of 1965 Arena at 6:00 p.m. the following day.

Oceanne Thiffault made three saves in relief. Clarkson scored two goals in a 1:21 span to lead 2-0 after the first period. Ziotas' goal late in the second period cut the Golden Knight's lead to 2-1. Clarkson scored four straight goals to take a 6-1 lead. Alvarez and Dyke each scored inside the final three minutes to make it a 6-3 final.
Alvarez scored in Saturday's loss. Thiffault made 25 saves in her first collegiate start. Sophomore
Tahlia Vasseur made five saves in relief. After a scoreless first period, Clarkson scored three straight goals in the second period. Alvarez scored a power play goal off assists from Ziotas and junior defender
Madison Buziak. Clarkson scored five unanswered goals in the third period to make it an 8-1 final.
ABOUT RIT:
RIT enters the weekend averaging 2.0 goals per game while allowing 7.0 goals per contest. The Tigers are 2-for-8 on the power play and killed off 4-of-5 penalties. RIT is 42-of-72 (36.8%) on face-offs and have blocked 15 shots.
Alvarez and Ziotas each have two points. Alvarez leads the team with two goals, while Ziotas enters the weekend with a goal and an assist. Dyke has one goal while Buziak, Favro and junior forward
Ireland Stein each have an assist.

Riley Gramlich leads RIT with four blocked shots. Dyke, Favro and junior forward
Brac Kelley each have two blocked shots.
McNamara is 0-1 with a 6.56 goals-against average and an .846 save percentage. Thiffault is 0-1 with a 7.96 goals-against average and an .833 save percentage while Vasseur has an .833 save percentage and a 4.85 goal-against average.
ABOUT COLGATE:
Colgate begins its 2026-27 season this weekend against RIT. The Raiders posted a 19-16-1 record last season advancing to the ECAC Quarterfinals. Colgate enters the weekend ranked 14th in this week's USCHO Division I women's poll and 15th in the USA Hockey poll.
Senior forward
Emma Pais is Colgate's top returning scorer from last season. She finished third on the team with 32 points on 18 goals and 14 assists. She was third on the team with three power play goals and led the team with one short-handed goal. Junior
Alexia Aubin returns after finishing fourth on the team with 29 points on eight goals and a team-high 21 assists last season.
Senior defender
Avery Pickering led Colgate with 41 blocked shots last season to go along with 15 points on three goals and 12 assists. Sophomore
Taylor Senecal was tied for second on the team with 38 blocked shots adding 15 assists in her rookie season.
Sophomore
Brooke Davis posted an 11-11-1 record last season with a 2.36 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage. Junior
Farah Walker was 8-5-0 last season with a 3.03 goals-against average and a .894 save percentage.
RIT vs. COLGATE:
RIT is 16-16-2 all time against Colgate. Last season the Tigers split a pair of games at Colgate losing 5-2 before a 3-1 win the following day. Sophomore forward
Tilli Keranen tallied a goal and an assist while Stein and Rulle each scored. Stein's goal in the third period proved to be the game-winning goal.
Sophia Bellina got the win in goal, making 36 saves for the Tigers.
