Women's Cross Country finishes seventh at NCAA Niagara Regionals

GENESEO, N.Y. – RIT junior Katie Cobos finished seventh out of 141 runners to lead the Tigers to seventh place out of 20 teams at the Niagara Regional Championships, hosted by Geneseo at the National Warplane Museum, Saturday.
 
Cobos earned All-Region recognition after completing the six-kilometer circuit with a 23:27.5 clocking, 1:17 behind overall winner Windsor Ardner from Geneseo.
 
Senior Ann Byerley also earned All-Region recognition in 35th (24:35.1) place, followed by senior Marian Draper in 41st (24:47.8).
 
Senior Erin Percy finished 43rd (24:50.9) before junior Amelia Gilbert closed the RIT scoring five with a 67th-place finish (25:48.0).
 
The host Knights won the race with 19 points, followed by Rochester (70), Ithaca (120), Hamilton (166), St. John Fisher (177), Nazareth (184) and the Tigers (189).
 
Cobos will be in the running for an at-large invite to the NCAA Division III Championships, to be held on Saturday, Nov. 20, at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky. The full field will be announced on Sunday (Nov. 14).
