BUFFALO, N.Y. – RIT junior forward
Elijah Gonsalves scored a third-period power-play goal, but it was Canisius earning a 4-1 victory, Saturday night, in Atlantic Hockey play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Canisius scored a short-handed goal to break a scoreless tie with 12:25 left in the second period.
- The Golden Griffins kicked off a three-goal, third-period run with a power play with 9:36 on the clock and notched an even-strength goal 1:26 later.
- Canisius took a 4-0 lead with 1:49 left in regulation, before Gonsalves broke the shutout with 22.5 seconds left in the game.
GAME NOTES
- Gonsalves notched his second-straight game with a power play goal after also tallying a goal to go along with an assist in Friday night's 5-2 setback with the host Golden Griffins.
- After only scoring one power play goal in its first eight games, RIT has scored at least one in its last four games, including two in Friday's night's game.
- RIT junior goaltender Kolby Matthews was credited with 29 saves as Canisius out-shot RIT, 33-29.

RIT hosts Holy Cross next Friday and Saturday (Nov. 19-20) for an Atlantic Hockey set. Faceoffs are set for 7:05 p.m. and 5:05 p.m., respectively.
