Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. - RIT sophomore forward
Lindsay Maloney's third-period power-play tally got the Tigers within a pair of goals, but UConn responded with two late tallies to take the contest, 6-2, Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Union opened the scoring on the power play, 4:01 into the second period.
- Senior forward Abby Davies got an unassisted tally with 12:18 remaining in the second to knot the game at 1-1.
- Uconn responded just 24 seconds later to close out the second-period scoring at 2-1.
- The Huskies got a pair of goals 69 seconds apart in the third to take a 4-1 lead with the latter goal coming with 11:44 remaining.
- Maloney tallied on a power play with the Tigers' goaltender pulled for a 4-2 game. Sophomore forward Emma Roland and junior forward Hana Solinger earned assists.
- UConn's Viki Harkness got the game's final two goals with one into an empty net in the final three minutes.
GAME NOTES
- Davies' goal gave her tallies in back-to-back games this weekend.
- Freshman goaltender Sarah Coe made 39 saves, nearly matching a career-high 40 saves from the night before.
- For the second time in as many nights, RIT held the opposition off the scoreboard after the first 20 minutes.
- Maloney's goal and Roland's assist gave each a team-leading five points on the season.
