CANTON, NY -- The RIT (4-1) men's swimming and diving team won its fourth straight dual meet with a 215-60 win at St. Lawrence University Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers began the meet sweeping the top-2 places in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Nick Genovese,
Brendan Kapp (Springfield, VA/Trinity School),
Cameron Marcus (Jericho, VT/Mount Mansfield) and Cameron Ling won the event in a time of 1:38.39. The team of
Bennett Vana (Shoreline, MA/Shoreline),
Mitch Gumbert (McDonald, PA/West Allegheny),
Connor Somers () and
Adam Reitz (Hilton, NY/Hilton) were second in a time of 1:44.08.
Bennett was a winner in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:27.76).
Eric Moss (Irvington, NY/Irvington) won the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.84) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:00.44). Aidan Dauduer continued his good performances with a win in the 100-yard backstroke (:55.21 seconds) and the 200-yard backstroke (1:57.93). Kapp won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.34) and set a pool record with a win in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:13.00).
Marcus picked up a win in the 200-yard butterfly (2:02.77) and Ling won the 50-yard freestyle (:22.29 seconds). Jimmy Antonelli won the 100-yard freestlye (51.06 seconds).
In diving action,
Michael Burke (Ambler,PA/Upper Dublin) won the 1-meter (268.50) and the 3-meter (305.25) competitions.
RIT returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 16, when the Tigers host LeMoyne College at 1 p.m.
