ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (6-1-1, 3-0-1 AHA) men's hockey team is still unbeaten in Atlantic Hockey play after a 3-3 tie against Holy Cross (1-2-3, 0-1-1 AHA) Saturday afternoon. The Crusaders earn the extra point via a win in the shootout.

Shots were 32-28 in favor of Holy Cross. RIT went 0-for-6 with the man advantage, while the Crusaders went 1-for-4 on the power play. The Tigers took five penalties for 10 minutes, while Holy Cross took six penalties for 12 minutes.

Shawn Cameron (Sherbrooke, Quebec/Cumberland Grads), Will Calverley (Scarborough, Ontario/Chilliwack Chiefs) and Jake Joffe (Toronto, Ontario/Toronto Jr. Canadiens) each scored for RIT, while Regan Seifferling had two assists. Logan Drackett (Calgary, Alberta/Calgary Canucks) earned the tie for the Tigers, making 29 saves. Dalton Skelly, Will Brophy and Connor Jean each scored for Holy Cross, and Matt Radomsky made 25 stops in net for the Crusaders.

Joffe gave RIT the lead in his goal at 12:02 of the first period on assists from Jordan Peacock (Burlington, Ontario/Burlington Cougars) and Seifferling. The Tigers increased their lead to 2-0 on Calverley's goal at 13:59 of the period with the assists going to Nick Bruce (Fall River, Nova Scotia/Johnstown Tomahawks) and Chris McKay (Edmonton, Alberta/Sherwood Park Crusaders).

Holy Cross cut the RIT lead in half with a power play goal from Skelly at 18:43 of the opening period with the assists going to Anthony Vincent and Logan Ferguson. After a scoreless second period, Brophy tied the score at 2-2 on his goal from Ryan Leibold and Logan Milliken and the Crusaders took the lead on a Jean goal at 11:45 of the third.

With time running out and RIT with the extra skater, Cameron came through, tying the score at 3-3 on his goal with 1:06 to play in regulation on assists from Hamacher and Seifferling.

After a scoreless first and second overtime, each team experienced its first shootout of the season. Hamacher was first for RIT, but Radomsky saved his attempt. Drackett made a save on Ferguson's attempt, but Alden Dupuis (Edmonton, Alberta/Bonnyville Pontiacs) missed his attempt. That set up Jake Pappalardo who buried his attempt to give the Crusaders the extra point.

RIT returns to action on Friday, Nov. 8, when the Tigers host Niagara University at 7:05 p.m. from the Gene Polisseni Center.
