ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (5-1) men's swimming and diving team won its fifth straight dual meet with a 193-100 win over LeMoyne College Saturday afternoon from Judson Pool.
The Tigers opened the meet with a sweep of the top two places in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of
Derek Rothrock (Ashburn, VA/Briar Woods),
Brendan Kapp (Springfield, VA/Trinity School),
Cameron Marcus (Jericho, VT/Mount Mansfield) and
Will Brown (Boulder, CO/Fairview) won the event in a time of 1:38.15. The team of
Colin Allen (Bedford, NH/Bedford), Jonathan Costa,
Connor Somers () and Cameorn Ling came home second in a time of 1:38.15.
Maxwell Bennett was a winner in the 1000-yard freestyle, coming home in a time of 10:06.65,
Eric Moss (Irvington, NY/Irvington) won the 200-yard freestyle (1:47.36), and Marcus was a winner in the 200-yard butterfly and the 100-yard butterfly (53.58 seconds).
Aidan Daudier (Milford, NH/Bishop Guertin) brought home the win in the 100-yard backstroke (54.91 seconds), and won th 200-yard backstroke (1:56.31). Ling was a winner in the 100-yard freestyle (48.86 seconds)
Kapp won the 100-yard breaststroke (59.60 seconds), and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:10.96), while
Robert Gagnon (Voorhees, NJ/Voorhees) brought home a win in the 500-yard freestyle (4:54.14).
RIT swept the top two spots in the 3-meter diving competition with
Michael Burke (Ambler,PA/Upper Dublin) was first (270.80) and Jonathan Parker finished second (196.95). Burke (285.60) and Parker (196.45) were first and second in the 1-meter competition.
RIT returns to action on Friday, Dec. 6 when the Tigers begin competition in the 2019 Don Richards Invitational from Judson Pool.
