ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (3-1) men's swimming and diving team defeated Clarkson University 179-104 in Liberty League action from Judson Pool Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers began the meet by sweeping the top-two places in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of
Derek Rothrock (Ashburn, VA/Briar Woods), Brendna Kapp,
Cameron Marcus (Jericho, VT/Mount Mansfield) and
Will Brown (Boulder, CO/Fairview) won the race in a time of 1:37.31. The team of
Tyler Schwarz (Stanley, NY/Marcus Whitman),
Shawn Nevers (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial),
Connor Somers () and
Mark Truskinovsky (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville North) came home second in a time of 1:40.30.
Maxwell Bennett was a winner in the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 10:24.58. Truskinovsky was a winner in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:49.24.
Aidan Daudier (Milford, NH/Bishop Guertin) won the 100-yard backstroke (:54.96 seconds) and the 200-yard backstroke (1"58.97), while Kapp was a winner in the 100-yard breaststroke (:59.34 seconds) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:11.68).
Eric Moss (Irvington, NY/Irvington) won the 200-yard butterfly (1:59.27) and the 100-yard butterfly (:52.93 seconds).
Brown won the 50-yard freestyle (:22.21 seconds) and
Robert Gagnon (Voorhees, NJ/Voorhees) won the 500-yard freestyle (5:01.52).
RIT returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 2, at St. Lawrence University beginning at 1 p.m.
