GENEVA, NY -- The RIT (9-0) women's swimming and diving team set two Bristol Pool records and remained unbeaten in dual meets with a 124.5-87.5 win at William Smith College (4-1) Wednesday evening. The Tigers have now won 18 straight dual meets dating back to the start of the 2017-18 season.
First-year
Mililani Rosare (Campbell, CA/Westmont) set a pool record in the 200-yard individual medley, winning the event in a record time of 2:13.25. She was also the lone swimmer to break one minute in the 100-yard backstroke, coming home first in a time of :59.46.
In the final event of the night, the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Rosare,
Eleanor O'Gorman (Yarmouth, ME/Yarmouth),
Phoebe Huey (Fort Collins, CO/Fossil Ridge) and
Alicia Shenal (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) set a pool record with a time of 1:41.31, while swimming as an exhibition match.
Senior
Sedera Zbranak (Austin, TX/Lake Travis) was a multiple winner, taking home first place in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of :25.34, while winning the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:27.15. AShenal was part of a one-two sweep for the Tigers in the 50-free, finishing second in a time of :25.53. Shenal was also a winner in the 100-yard freestyle (:55.52).
Olivia Phillips (Louisville, CO/Fairview) earned a win in the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.64), and Huey brought home first place honors in the 200-yard freestyle (1:59.12).
In relay action, the Tigers began the meet with a one-two finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Zbranak,
Amy Adams (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy), Phillips and
Daylen Smith (Lockwood, NY/Waverly) won the event in a time of 1:51.15, while the team of
Sarah Evans (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna),
Angela Petote-Bozza (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia),
Margo McBrearty (Oswego, NY/Oswego) and
Lauryn Mattoon (Genoa, NY/Southern Cayuga) came home second in a time of 2:00.35.
Jessica Kaups (Shaker Heights, OH/Shaker Heights) was a winner in the 1-meter diving competition, finishing with a score of 204.35, while
Anastasia Ueda (Lafayette, CA/Miramonte) was second with a score of 192.30. Ueda placed second in the 3-meter competition, finishing with a score of 196.40, and Kaups was third with a score of 195.90.
