Petrie and Hickey earn Liberty League end of year awards

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Junior diver Gwen Petrie and first-year swimmer Taryn Hickey have earned Liberty League women's swimming & diving major awards, announced Thursday.

Petrie has been named the Diver of the Year, while Hickey has been named the Rookie of the Year.

Sweeping both diving events at the Liberty League Championships, Petrie went on to earn Second Team All-America in the 1-Meter and 3-Meter at the NCAA Division III National Championships.

At the conference championship meet, Hickey won the 50 and 100 Freestyle events in addition to placing fourth in the 100 Butterfly. The first-year also swam legs in the 200 Medley relay which placed third, and the 400 Freestyle relay team that took fourth.
