ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (7-0) women's swimming and diving team continued its excellent season with a 161-132 win over Hamilton College Saturday afternoon from Judson Pool. The Tigers have won 16 straight dual meets dating back to the start of 2017-18. Prior to the meet, RIT honored seniors
Amy Adams (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy),
Sarah Evans (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna),
Addy Maykish (Caldwell, NJ/Caldwell),
Angela Petote-Bozza (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia),
Olivia Phillips (Louisville, CO/Fairview),
Daylen Smith (Lockwood, NY/Waverly) and
Sedera Zbranak (Austin, TX/Lake Travis) as they made their final appearance at Judson Pool.
The Tigers opened the meet with a win in the 400-yard medley relay. The team of
Alicia Shenal (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta), Adams, Phillips and
Phoebe Huey (Fort Collins, CO/Fossil Ridge) placed first winning in a time of 4:04.54.
Zbranak won three individual events for RIT, winning the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:03.32. Zbranak and Makish placed one-two in the 1,000-yard freestyle with Maykish finishing second in a time of 11:24.60. She came home first in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing in a time of 2:10.54, and finished her meet with a win in the 100-yard butterfly, winning in a time of 59.75.
Adams was a winner in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.02) and won the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:35.25. Other winners included Huey in the 200-yard freestyle (2:00.28) and
Mililani Rosare (Campbell, CA/Westmont) in the 100-yard backstroke (59.96).
Eleanor O'Gorman (Yarmouth, ME/Yarmouth) was a winner in the 50-yard freestyle (25.62), while Shenal took home first place in the 100-freestyle (55.11). Phillips was a winner in the 500-yard freestyle, winning in a time of 5:34.39.
RIT returns to action on Saturday, January 19 at the University of Rochester at 1 p.m.
