Harley Wilson (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) will represent RIT at the 2018 NCAA Division III Women's Track and Field Outdoor Championships, which take place from Thursday, May 24 to Saturday, May 26 hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and held at the Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.
Wilson is making her first trip to the NCAA Championships and will compete in the 400-meter hurdles. The preliminaries take place on Thursday, May 24 at 4:15 p.m. EST/3:15 p.m. If Wilson advances, the finals are Saturday, May 26 at 3:25 p.m. EST/2:25 p.m. CST.
Wilson enters the national championships with the 13th fastest time among all Division III runners in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:01.47. She has enjoyed a tremendous outdoor season, winning six of seven races in the 400-meter hurdles. Wilson lowered the school mark in the event originally on April 24 at the RIT Mid-Week Invitational, hitting the finish line in 1:01.71. She broke the record for a second time (1:01.60) at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier Meet on April 14 and lowered it once again two days later, winning the All-Atlantic Region Championship in 1:01.47.
Wilson was also part of the 4 x 400-meter relay team that shattered a school mark at the All-Atlantic Region Championships, crossing the finish line in a time of 3:59.07.
