CANTON, NY -- The RIT (3-2) men's swimming and diving team won its third straight dual meet with a 149-96 win at St. Lawrence University (0-3) Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers began the meet sweeping the top three spots in the 200-yard medley realy. The team of
Foster West (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas),
John Stelmack (Toccoa, GA/Stephens County),
Carl Schlehr (Maineville, OH/Kings) and Nicholas Genovese came home first in a time of 1:45.38. The team of
Scott Brink (Quincy, MA/Boston College), Michael Lue,
Spencer Hall (Plattsburgh, NY/Plattsburgh), and Ryan Facchine was second, and the team of
Tom Regan (Hollis, NH/Hollis Brookline), Tom Richter, Mark Truskinovsky, and
Tomer Artzi (Framingham, MA/Framingham) wer third.
The Tigers swept the top three spots in the 50-yard freestyle. Facchine was first in a time of 23.04. Zachary Ward was second in a time of 23.26, while Tyler Allen was third in a time of 23.30.
Jason Cook took home first in the 100-yard freestyle (50.69), while Genovese was third (52.31). In the 200-yard breaststroke, Tom Richter was first in a time of 2:26.15, and Lue was second in a time of 2:31.77.
RIT rounded out the meet by sweeping the top-two places in the 400-freestyle relay. The team of Artzi, Schlehr, Cook, and Facchine won the event in a time of 3:23.73. The team of Jack Brautigam, Allen, Tyler Schwarz, and Lucas Fitzgerald was second in a time of 3:34.39.
Jon Bauer was second in both diving events for the Tigers.
RIT returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 11 when the Tigers host LeMoyne College at 1 p.m. at Judson Pool.
