ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (5-1) women's swimming and diving team won its fifth straight meet with a 203-95 victory over LeMoyne College (1-3) Saturday afternoon from Judson Pool.
RIT opened the meet with a sweep of the top two positions in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of
Sedera Zbranak (Austin, TX/Lake Travis),
Amy Adams (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy),
Olivia Phillips (Louisville, CO/Fairview) and
Daylen Smith (Lockwood, NY/Waverly) were first in a time of 1:52.40. Brenna Woodling,
Katrina Mayer (Bristol, VT/Vergennes Union), Megan Hawkes and Rachel Charette were second in a time of 1:56.32.
Zbranak also won three individual events on the afternoon. She and Emily Lederman swept the top two spots in the 200-yard freestyle. Zbranak won the event in a time of 1:57.10, while Lederman was second in a time of 2:03.95. Zbranak won her second event of the meet, helping RIT sweep the top three spots in the 100-yard freestyle. She won the event in a time of 54.60, Lederman was second in a time of 56.02, and Smith was third in a time of 57.47. Zbranak picked up her third win of the afternoon, winning the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:00.03.
Lederman took the win in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing in a time of 2:18.37 in addition to her two second place finishes.
Adams, and Mayer were first and second in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events. Adams won the 100-yard event in a time of 1:08.42, while Mayer was second in a time of 1:09.53. Adams also won the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:34.81, while Mayer was right behind in 2:35.24.
Phillips won both the 200-yard butterfly and 500-yard freestyle. Phillips took the 200-fly in a time of 2:14.66, while winning the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:29.29.
Smith (26.06), and Charette (26.46) were first and second in the 50-yard freestyle. In the 100-yard backstroke, the Tigers took home three of the top-four positions. Woodling won in a time of 1:02.80. Eleanor O'Gorman was second in a time of 1:05.90, while Alex Sinnery was fourth.
In diving action, the Tigers swept the top three spots in the 1-meter competition. Alaiya Tuntemeke won with a score of 232.40. Patsy Hayes was second with a score of 225.00, and Jessa Kaups was third with a score of 174.85. Tuntemeke (229.85) and Hayes (227.30) were one-two in the 3-meter event.
RIT wrapped up the meet with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team of Mayer, Phillips, Lederman and Smith won the event in a time of 1:43.56.
The Tigers return to action on Friday, Dec. 1 when RIT begins competition in the Don Richards Invitational at Judson Pool.
