ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (4-2) men's swimming and diving team won its fourth straight dual meet with a 160.5-139.5 victory over LeMoyne College (0-3) at Judson Pool Saturday afternoon.
RIT opened the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Nicholas Genovese,
Carl Schlehr (Maineville, OH/Kings),
Justin Morris (Holliston, MA/Advanced Math and Science Academy Charter School) and Jason Cook came home first in a time of 1:39.69.
The Tigers took three of the top four spots in the 100-yard backstroke. Genovese won the event in a time of 54.33. Tom Regan was third (1:00.20), and Scott Brink was third (1:00.21).
John Stelmack (1:01.78) was one of three Tigers to finish in the top four in the 100-yard backstroke. Schlehr (1:03.29) finished third, while Jerry Brushafer (1:05.50) was fourth.
In diving action, RIT swept the top four positions in the 3-meter competition. Alex Dieroff won the event with a score of 296.35. Ben Hamilton placed second (255.55) and Jon Bauer (211.65) was third. Chase Van Duyne (191.75) was fourth. In the 1-meter event, Dieroff earned nine critical points with a win, posting a score of 279.00. Hamilton was second with a score of 269.75 and Bauer was third with a score of 249.70.
RIT wrapped up the win by sweeping the top two spots in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team of Genovese, Tyler Allen, Cook and Ryan Facchine won the event in a time of 1:28.02. The team of Braden Feasley, Eric Moss, Tomer Artzi and Adam Reitz came home second in a time of 1:29.44.Â
RIT returns to action on Friday, Dec. 1 when the Tigers begin competition at the Don Richards Invitational at Judson Pool.Â
