ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT women's hockey team heads east to play Boston University for two games on Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 4. Friday's game at Walter Brown Arena starts at 7 p.m., while Saturday's contest at Agganis Arena begins at 3 p.m.
RIT heads into the weekend series with a 3-4-1 record. Last weekend, RIT split a pair of home games against College Hockey America foe Lindenwood University, rallying to win 4-3 on Friday, while falling 6-0 on Saturday. On Friday,
Tori Haywood (Pickering, Ontario/St. Mary's Catholic) scored a goal and added an assist, while
Kendall Cornine (Kinnelon, NJ/Morristown Beard),
Mallory Rushton (Amherst, Nova Scotia/New Hampton Prep) and
Kaelyn Johnson (Toronto, Ontario/Mississauga Chiefs) also scored. Johnson's goal was the game-winner which snapped a 3-3 tie in the third period and was also her first collegiate tally.
Cornine and
Kandice Sheriff (Brampton, Ontario/) are tied for the team lead with six points apiece. Cornine has a team-best four goals to go along with a pair of assists, while Sheriff has three goals and three assists.
Brooke Baker (Saline, MI/Saline) has a team-high four assists. In goal,
Jessi O'Leary (Woodstock, New Brunswick/Athol Murray) has a 2.60 goals against average and a .905 save percentage, while
Terra Lanteigne (Hatchet Lake, Nova Scotia/Charles P. Allen) is 2-1-0 with a .909 save percentage.
Boston University enters the weekend with a 1-5-1 record, all in Hockey East play. The Terriers fell to Boston College, 4-3 on Saturday and tied New Hampshire, 2-2 on Sunday. Victoria Bach leads Boston University in scoring with 10 points on four goals and six assists, while Rebecca Leslie has a team-high five goals. Goaltender Erin O'Neil has appeared in five games and has a 3.42 goals against average and an .892 save percentage. Corrine Schroder is 1-0-1 with a 1.92 goals against average and a .944 save percentage.
This weekend's contests mark the first two meetings between RIT and Boston University.
