ROCHESTER, NY - Freshman pole vaulter Samantha Kaplan (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz) of the RIT women's track and field team, was named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week for the second straight time on Monday, for the week ending Jan. 29, 2017.

Kaplan continued her strong season, placing second overall in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 3.35 meters at the Brockport Golden Eagle Multi & Invitational Meet on Saturday.

RIT is back in action on Friday, Feb. 3 as they host the Tiger Invitational at 4 p.m. from the Gordon Field House.
